The NES version of the Pro Action Replay worked very similar to the NES Game Genie. It is even shaped quite similar. It comes packaged with a code book. However it differs from the Game Genie as it allows users to create their own codes by using the built in trainer. Not only that, up to 5 codes can be entered at once instead of 3. It can also function as a NTSC adaptor for PAL consoles as there is a switch on the side of the cart which allows this.
